Archispec Building Inspectors (ABI) is an individually owned and family operated business. Serving South Carolina since 1986, the firm has undergone numerous changes. The company was originally operated as "Residential Building Inspectors"(RBI). The inspection format was one of the first in the market to use a "standard of practice". This standard was begun by the owners, cousins, one an Architect, and one a Engineer who still operate inspection offices in North Carolina. ABI is one of the franchised offices of "Residential Building Inspectors"(RBI) in the southeast.
Purchased by the current owner, Martin P. Baker Sr. in 1996, numerous changes were implemented, the largest of which was a move to computer generated reports. This allowed the individual inspector the ability to include digital photographs, as well as deliver the report on-site! All ABI inspectors must have 350 fee paid inspections under their belts, and passed the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) competency exam prior to being allowed to inspect your property! The stringent ASHI continuing education requirements insure you an inspector with up-to-date training you can trust!
At ABI our utmost desire is to deliver a product and service you can trust. We know this is likely the largest, most important purchase of your life and one you will have to live with for a long time. Therefore, we pay the utmost attention to detail and report as much information as possible, good or bad. We want you to know what's wrong as well as what's right. Each inspector has been trained to clarify not only in the problems with the house, but the good parts as well.
